996C4S - which rear tyre size do you use?
Discussion
Post euro trip, unsurprisingly my rear tyres are ripe for replacement, first I've put on it. The tyre sites seem to suggest 295/30/18 or 265/35/18, however it's currently running 295/35/18. It's certainly not short of rear grip, so I'd be happy to go a little smaller (and of course there's a price benefit there too!), but wondered what you folks had used and any opinions especially from those who have downsized - I can't help feel running the same size as a Turbo is overkill on a 320bhp car.

for wheel and tyre sizes - not necessarily for the make of tyre though

^ this depends on the wheels on the car. I’ve a friend with GT3 type OEM wheels on a 996 although they’re obviously 10j width as he’s only running 265 width tyres whereas I have 10.5j width tyres & 285s which I understand are the original GT3 spec rears.996.2 Carreras have 285/30 18
