996 Constant beeping
Discussion
Hi all.
Every time I turn the ignition off, I get a chirp from the alarm- approximately every ten seconds.
This started after the alarm went off at 4am this morning, I disconnected the battery eventually but when I've re-connected it its started again.
It stops when I start the car.
I've checked the glove box / cubby / all doors / front boot and engine cover, all seem ok.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Simon

The horn ‘chirp’ is usually an open glovebox, door or bonnet. If they’re all closed, then I can only imagine it’s a battery that needs changing....Every time I turn the ignition off, I get a chirp from the alarm- approximately every ten seconds.

Ok, thanks for your help everyone.
I removed the siren yesterday to eliminate that- obviously it’s not chirping now- I’m not entirely sure what I’ve proved by that but at least I didn’t have to disconnect the battery (I did this at work yesterday to stop it chirping- slammed the front boot- ffs- then had to call the AA to get me back in. Idiot).
I’ll put a meter on the battery this morning and see how it’s looking after a night on charge.
Thanks again.
