Starting problem with a 997 Cab S Gen 2
Discussion
Does it have an aftermarket headunit or anything else which could be drawing power when the car is turned off? The 996 era used to have an issue with the frunk microswitch failing and not turning off the light. It could be something similar although to go dead so quickly would imply a pretty large draw.

Thank you for all the very helpful suggestions. I've gone the easy route, back to Porsche for a new battery. Apparently I don't drive it enough and the battery dies as result. Probably need to garage the car and put it on a drip charge..
I used to trickle charge mine on the drive using an extension run from my garage and dropped into the frunk. My HPFP failed but only after what I learned later were the warning signs: it would always start first time but needed increasing amounts of cranking before it would. Eventually it failed. In France. Over two weeks to get it fixed; replanned trip home and a flight to Bordeaux and a drive home to collect it. Service from Porsche Bordeaux shocking. Service from Porsche Assistance superb. Missus throwing strops - don't go there
I too can't provide mine with a trickle charge and during the winter months if it's left much more than a week the battery dies. It's just become a (tedious routine) to remove the battery and take it into the house to charge it. Hey-ho, but when I drive it all is forgiven.

It shouldn't need daily trickle charge. I had an old Moll in my 911 that was dying but could still last 4 or 5 days. The new one they've put in is excellent. Can leave it for a week or more and cranks over straight away. The Moll's have a bad rep and are expensive but maybe they have improved their product??
