I’ve previously discounted any base model 911 but this car popped up and I started thinking why I actually want/need a GTS or an S. I concluded that for me at least, it’s vanity so I’m trying to think more practically. I’ve never been on a track, never used sports plus and rarely use PDK outside of auto.

Questions:

1. Anyone know the car? It’s had 5 owners so one of them must be on here?!
2. Are those PCCBs? Colour says yes - spec says no.
3. Coming from a 991.1 CS will I notice any real difference in performance or driving characteristics (see above disclaimer re driving)? It’s not really the ability to go around corners exceptionally well I’m worried about, it’s whether it’ll feel pretty similar to the 991.1 CS when, say, overtaking a lorry on single lane carriageway?
4. How much is it to get cruise control retro fitted?

Many thanks.

Discs aren't big enough to be PCCB's so calipers appear to have been repainted.
Don't know why anyone would only use PDK in auto and never use sports plus (in manual anyway on road). It feels a different car, although the one you're looking at doesn't have paddles.
The one thing I never use in the the UK is cruise.

4. I’ve seen 991 owners post on various forums that the cost is £500 - £600.

It involves setting various software codes so probably something best left to a main dealer. Perhaps something to negotiate as part of the purchase?

Targas are lovely looking cars but make sure you drive it with the roof off its that’s how you think you want to enjoy it. I found after a full cab they are unacceptably buffeting to ride in roof off. Try on between 30 and 80 but couldn’t find a sweet spot.

Also, I seem to recall that the roof can only be raised or lowered while the car is stationary as it obscures the rear lights.

That link doesn’t work now. Perhaps sold?

I love my 992.2 Targa 4 with sport Chrono. CarPlay, turbo and as fast as the 991.1 S. what’s not to like? The turbo is fine and the car sounds good with a sports exhaust IMHO.

Targa down is fine. Probs not for long on a motorway. But fast B roads for sure.
