992 GTS with manual and NA? (like the new 718 4.0 GTS?)
Discussion
I love my manual 991.2 GTS (RWD) and use the 4 seats regularly for my 3 boys so a 718 not an option (prefer the 911 anyway).
Read the reviews of the 718 with NA engines and Manual and they sound good.
So it got me thinking:
1) Anyone heard when the option of a manual is coming to the 992 in the UK (US only at the moment I think?)
2) When is the GTS slated to come out for the 992, and do we think it might be NA too like the 718?
I know a lot of you spend time chatting to dealers/people in the trade so interested in what's being said.
For what it's worth I had a pretty decent roadtest in a 992S last summer and it felt no quicker than my GTS (because it isn't) and I personally just love a manual so the PDK did nothing for me.

Top bods @ Porsche, including Dr Frank Wailliser, (who I met and chatted to for a while at Goodwood last year, cool chap, he loved my 000 hat, and gave me the history behind the 000 designation), have said no to series 911 being NA, only GT products.
That said, I whilst I believe that they believe what they said at the time and it was true..... things can and often do change.
However it makes no sense from a performance point of view to fit it...it will be significantly slower than a 992 3.0T and probably slower than a 991.2 3.0T, as it will have much less torque.
The new saying around these parts, is that Porsche never go backwards on performance.
The only way it works in a series 911, is if they fit it as part of a hybrid petrol-electric drivetrain.

I was told that the manual car would be out late 2019 but I really can’t see them going back to NA for ‘normal’ 911s.
I haven’t chased up the dealer as I’m in two minds about another 911, but I’m beginning to wonder whether we will see any manual cars at all, by now you’d think there’d be some news. Maybe it’s all wrapped up with WLTP?
