With lockdown in force do you think I should get a trickle charger . Looks like car will be on the drive unused for at least 6 weeks now.
Just had a look at battery and it is standard 70ah Banner battery (not lithium battery even though other forums in US/Canada seem to think lithium standard fit on 992 - maybe cheaper battery because my car is base carrera built in Feb 2020?)

If you are not going to use the car at all (shopping trips) then yes I would suggest a trickle charger. CTEX MX 5 is probably one of the best - I have used one for a couple of years no complaints

Are you sure it’s not lithium? Mine wasn’t really obvious it was lithium apart from a small sticker.

With my 992 now gone i have a spare lithium ctek charger. If you, or another 992 owner wants it for a good price then it’s available.

Left mine for 4-5 weeks over Christmas and it was fine, no hint of flatness. It’s a C2S, wouldn’t know where the battery is to see if it’s Li or not.

My 992 C4S had a full size Banner battery that on closer inspection was a Lithium one. Best check...

CTEK 5.0 works good enough - tried to buy the official Porsche one first but couldn’t source it during lock down. Mine is an Apr ‘19 C2S...its got the AGM battery and not the Lithium.
