I have owned my Carrera T since new and love it to bits, however I have been offered a 991.2 GT3 and with me adding a bit to the pot it won’t cost me much more each month.

Not sure if I should make the move or stick with my Carrera T, I like the fact Iam the only owner of my car currently, and also I love the way it drives etc, just always fancied a GT3.

I only really use the car in the summer for European road trips so maybe a GT3 is overkill!

Also wonder if the Carrera T may be worth more if I hang on to it long term, due to being the last narrow body, manual 911?

With the GT3 being track focused I'd stick rather than twist. Or maybe look for a well specced 991.2 GTS, more power and with the right spec could be a similar experience to the T. All great cars, just as long as you are using them there no bad choice.

I think you're kidding yourself if you believe the Carrera T might be a future classic.

Ignoring the fact it is turbocharged, just bear in mind the plethora of 'special' GT Porsches in the last decade.

Drive a GT3 and you will realise the distance in driving dynamics between a regular 911.

Couldn’t advise, but there seems to be widespread inevitability that the values/prices of both will drop in the coming months, so you would need to factor that into your calculations.
Ideally you would sell the T ‘high’, and buy the GT3 ‘low’.
Although, the ‘specs’ of your T and the GT3 could have a bearing on the price difference.
There were a few comparative road tests between the T and GT3 back in 2017/18. IIRC the T came out OK.

Looks like it's this car at Glasgow: https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en_GB/911-GT3-156992

Manual Clubsport with front axle lift and steels, the 911 experts will need to chime in on what they think of the rest of the spec vs price. Looks nice to me though with super low miles. If the deal works for you why not swap? I'd take a GT3 over a T every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Beautiful car. If weekend car yes defo. If daily everyone has different tastes you should take GT3 for a drive first. Then drive T on same route on way back home and decide. I was convinced I'd love GT3. Prefer 997 turbo for road fun. Easier to access its power and I promise you send your T to a good tuner like Litchfield or 9e and she will blow the doors off a GT3 and still be nice daily. All for £995 or something silly in fact Mr Litchfield has your exact car as his dd smile

I've owned a Carrera T and several GT3/RS. it's the GT3 for me no contest.

The Carrera T is a lovely car, mine was rear seat delete and 918 buckets etc. but the GT is another level good.

Damn it... I've got this car top of my shortlist of ones to try and drive a deal on dependant on what's happening in the market..prices will only get lower. Perfect spec for me to use as a weekend and track toy... perfect upgrade from my GT4.

That Glasgow does look nice, it’s all relative if prices drop, if you like it and can afford it then why not!

There's quite a lot of T vs GT3 discussion on the rennlist forum. I have a manual T and nearly added a GT3 but went 981 Spyder as I don't track. What I enjoy about the T is it's enjoyable at sensible speeds and as you know it makes a great daily. It's a very subtle car and reminds me of my 997.1. Would be interested to know how you get on if you make the switch.

The GT3 is a completely different animal - an event on any drive. I know what I'd take but it needs to work for you

it is nice as a track day toy but when did steel disk cars get so expensive !!

I thought the overs market had gone ! £132k is rich imho.

The traffic light test - if the GT3 pulled up next to you at the lights, would you wish you were in it rather than your T?
