Am I alone in just wanting a 'simple' 911?
I looked at the configurator and couldn't figure out why the manual gearbox wasn't selectable on the Carrera. Then I thought WCPG (Where Can Porsche Gouge) and went to the Carrera S to find my answer.
Expensive that manual - an £11.5k option.
Hopefully they'll produce a Carrera T and I'm sure the extensive weight reduction programme of around 2kg they'll give to the model will be rewarded in the drive.

No sir! You are most certainly not.I would be more than happy with a "base" model 991.1 or 991.2 or 992 with a manual, but it's undeniable that loads more S models were sold than the base (interesting to know the proportion - maybe 90/10?)
I guess I am probably alone in lamenting the lack of a narrow body version of the 992 shape too?

Not sure if I wanted a simple 911 I’d be buying a 992 at all though. Especially right now....there are plenty of much cheaper 991.1’s and .2;s around....or even 997.2.
Completely agree with the sentiment about the 992’s size.
I think much of the affection for the ‘aircooled’ 911s is due to their compact size, so perfectly suited for many of our roads.
And none of the ‘wide body’ variants of previous models made for better cars.
Doubtless there will be a 992T, but it will need to be a bit more thoroughly considered than the 991T, which won’t be easy without a narrow-body option.
