New tyres for a 991.1 GT3

It looks as though my car will have it's MOT delayed until after the lockdown is released and by that time I will definitely need new tyres.
The car currently has Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres, but I understand that there is a new version of this tyre now available.
My car isn't used on track at the moment (although I keep saying i will do so), so I'm primarily looking for a good road tyre - the Cup 2 isn't particularly great in the wet, in my experience. I was looking at the Dunlop Race Maxx as an alternative, as i think this was the other OEM tyre when the car was launched.
Looking at the tyre characteristics, the Cup2 is rated 'E' for wet weather. The Dunlop Maxx Race is rated 'A' and the (new?) Maxx Race 2 is rated 'E'.
Has anyone tried these tyres and can confirm the difference in performance, particularly in the wet? I don't need a full 'wet' tyre, as I have another car for normal use, but having a tyre that is better in the rain would make it more usable.

If you have a OEM Warranty on the car I believe you have to have conforming tyres or it invalidates this. Just double check as I don’t think the P4S conforms.I’ve got 245/35/20 and 305/30/20 on my C4S

I put on an extended 2 year OEM warranty on my GT3 last year and part of the 111 point check they said I had to have on the Cup 2’s otherwise they couldn’t extend. Obviously this doesn’t apply if you don’t have a warranty or one by a third party. No harm in checking.I’ve got 245/35/20 and 305/30/20 on my C4S

I don't think that's true at all. As far as I understand it, the only two tyres approved for the GT3 are the Dunlop Race Maxx and the Sport Cup 2, the PS4S are approved for other 911s, but that is not relevant in this context.I'd agree that there's probably no real reason why the PS4s wouldn't work well on a GT3. However, as I have an OPC warranty on my car, this is relevant - I'd be stupid to pay for a warranty and then fail to comply with the requirements of that warranty.

Also interested in the difference between the old and new versions of the Race Maxx tyre, as the new version appears to be much worse in the wet ('E' rating).

the R is a very slick track spec qually tyre, last 300 miles in RS size to get VERY fast laps then goes off but you might get 3k out of it.
would be scary in the wet, it's ni on slick and is about £2.5k a set over £1.5k for cup 2's. ALso RS size only not GT3 sizes.

When I put 305/30/20 Y (103) into the Michelin tyre finder website it comes up with the PS4S and the Cup R, so it is available in the right size for the GT3.the Cup two is N0, N1 and I think now N2 spec.

But I did think the details didn't sound correct for what I'm looking for.
As far as the Cup 2s are concerned, there isn't a new tyre as such, there is just an updated version of the existing tyre, i.e. N1 or N2?
[b]Updated to confirm that N1 is the latest spec on Cup 2s, which have additional tread depth for longer wear and better wet weather performance.
