Ctek charger via lighter socket on GT3

I've got a CTEK charger (fitted with cig lighter plug) that I bought from my OPC about 10 years ago. It worked fine with my 997.1 turbo, but is a right pain with the GT3 (with smoker pack). I lock the car with the charger connected, but it's reluctant to cycle (when pressing the Mode button) from power > motorbike > car. I have to keep unplugging and plugging in the CTEK until (after a random number of attempts) it responds to the Mode switch!
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it the car or the charger?

Lots of info on the web about the mode button failing on these chargers, I suspect you have the same issue.

I can only comment for a 997.1 gt3 but mine is fine with ctek charger and cig lighter plug

I had similar problems with my old charger, the new one works fine,

It's been well used, so it's fair enough. It's been a good bit of kit, with the cable fitting very nicely through the door.

Not sure what causes it, I assume it's moisture in the garage. But who knows.
