Morning Folks.

I've had a manual 997.2 C2S before. Really enjoyed it and can't quite recall why I sold it...though a Ferrari 599 was the end result of whatever musings were going on in my head at the time! Anyway, I'm rather tempted to get another and have decided a manual C4S is the best option. C2S already done. GTS too expensive. Don't want a cab.

This is the best one I can see at the moment....

I'm not totally clued-up on the spec of these, so I just thought some input from those in the know would be great. It does have to be manual. I'm not that bothered about sports exhaust, to be honest. Is there anything we feel is 'missing' from this car. Price seems fair. Thank you all.

I had one too and with hindsight probably the best 997 we have owned. Sport Chrono missing but I don't believe I ever used it over 30,000 miles. Was very very fast a - b and an engaging car.

Can't see PSE on the spec...really needs it IMO.

Standard exhaust sound on the Gen II is way too muted...

Approx £2k retro fit from Porsche, or your can get a Carnewal system for about £800 ish which transforms the soundtrack.

Nice car otherwise.

Not cheap but a low mileage 997.2 won't be.

Doesn't have BOSE, to my mind this is an advantage as more space behind the rear seats. Speaking of seats seems like it has the hardback sport ones (as opposed to standard "comfort" ones). In my experience the sports are too tight at the top if broad shouldered - personal choice.

Don't see cruise (trivial but great for average speed sections) or rear wipe (love it or loathe it).

These are on 2 Year / 20k Service Intervals, so just someone following the schedule.

Looks nice.

You’ve also got a fair few things you can now point out when negotiating a discount!

Thanks all for your comments. Not sure I'm entirely fussed about sports exhaust. Can't remember if my C2S had it. Guess I'd have to listen to both. PASM, though. What is that exactly? Strictly necessary or just somewhat desirable? Thanks again.

PASM standard on a C4S? Controls electronic dampers sports and normal suspension setting. PSE had it and other than when you start the car it was never as nice as say on the 996 or even a stock 997.1 C4S in terms of engine and exhaust note. Has this car got aftermarket dampers? Sometimes people swap out the PASM dampers.

PSE is the first option I would want on these, along with a centre silencer bypass. It's far too quiet otherwise (IMO).
PASM is standard on the S models, you can tell by the damper button on the console.

This one has the hardback sports seats which is nice to have, but is missing Bose, parking sensors, cruise so looks a little overpriced.

As an owner of a very low specced 997 (not even GPS !), I can say the only thing I miss and this doesn't have either is the rear parking sensor.

Sports Chrono? The dash looks nicer without the clock! And what useful functions does it, especially in a manual.
PASM? This car has it. I have the passive sports damper and prefer this.
PSE? Drive it as is for the moment being. You can always fir PSE or an other sports exhaust later.
Cruise Control? One of the few options my car has. But I almost never use it. Most buyer want this so tough.
Full Leather? My car has this, as does the white one. Very important to me and wouldn't want one without! same applies for heated seats.
Bose? I don't have it and neither does the white car. I'm no audiophile, so never needed it. The basic speaker are more than good enough, at least for me.

The 997 doesn't really need a lot of options.
But use it to haggle along with the service history!

Deal breakers for me on a 997.
14 way seats, I need lumber support
Heated seats.
Full leather
Cruise control, because I have become used to it.

Nice to have list
Bose
TP Sensing
Sports exhaust
Multi function steering wheel

I have a .2 C4S I bought from them last year. While mine has the PSE, fine without it. No options are ‘essential’ - I have PASM but never use it - but I do like the factory LSD and short shift mine has. And having said that, there is one deal breaker for me - the sunroof. I’d never have one without, but that’s just preference. I even have non sport seats and they’re fine. Love mine. Price of this one seems fine.

Just to say, if you have PASM you use it every time you drive as the dampers are continually adjusting their rate of response depending on acceleration, braking, steering and road surface. Passive dampers don’t do that. You just don’t every trigger the sport mode to stiffen it up.

Lovely car BTW and great spec. I am also a crazy crazy sunroof defender and have one on my GTS

Not a bad looking car with decent spec. Shame it doesn't have rear parking sensors as I feel this is quite important if you are using it as a daily. It's useful at night when you can't see much around you.

Personally, I would like it to have PSE and cruise. But as mentioned, these can both be retrofitted so not a deal breaker.

How many owners has it had?
