Afternoon all,

Sorry in advance if this question has already been answered in some sort of fashion but I need a straight yes or no...

I recently bought an '02 996 C2 and the car came fitted with some spacers. Not exactly sure what sizes.

The wheels I currently have are the stock (looking) 18" carrera wheels and are 10 65 rear and 8 50 front.

The current tyres fitted are some Michelin Cup 2s and tyre sizes are 295/30 rear and 225/40 front.

I'd like to remove the spacers but an indy (questionable how competent they are) said that it would cause some rubbing on the inside as the wheels aren't stock. I understand the tyres aren't the usual dimensions but after looking I thought that the wheels are infact stock and are the correct size for an '02 narrow body C2, but I may be wrong.

If I remove these spacers will they fit OK?

I'd appreciate anyone who knows what they are talking about offering some guidance.

Cheers,

Nick

Yes you can remove the spacers, the wheels seem to be stock or near enough. Even with the wide rears, they shouldn't be troubling the inside of the arches unless you're running a low ride height or high camber.

Looks like the wheels are ok but your rear tyres are one size too wide.

Great regarding the wheels!

Regarding the tyres, not sure why the previous owner had wider tyres fitted on the rear. I'll probably wait until they're due to be changed to get a 285 tyre.
