Just wondered if anyone has gone from a 997 Gt3 to a 991 carrera T. And your thoughts.

Probably depends on what else is in your garage and how you plan to use the car. The T offers torque and the ability to modify significantly. If you’re a track day guy, then the GT3 is a clear winner.

I put my name down for a T the same week they came out, swapped to a manual GTS in a very simple lean spec lured by the extra bhp.

I had in my mind I would do fast comfy road trips around and about just two up with my wife.

Despite what I told myself for months... I found the GTS rather underwhelming... which was a big disappointment as I had never actually bought a brand new car with my own money and that was a fair bit of cash.

After 12 months ish I traded the GTS for a 997.2 GT3 which is bloody fantastic, I love driving it on the road and despite owning it for 14 months I still haven’t ventured on track.

I have a Scottish road trip booked and paid for in August which I am looking forward to immensely.

Would I go back (or is that forward) nope no way.

Went from a 997 manual turbo to a GT4 to a Carrera T.
The T is by far the best of the bunch on the road but it depends why your buying !!! As a track car i would say keep the GT3 but the T has been the only 911 that has ticked all the boxes for me. The engine is very torquey and you dont need to thrash it to get places quickly and the manual gear box is a delight. I would say the T feels as quick as my first 997 turbo but makes a nicer noise.
Think mines a keeper and im really happy with it.
