hi everyone.
so drove to Italy from UK. great drive through the alps but my C4S 991.1 now got a yellow warning light that there is a "cooling system fault visit a garage"
here is the dilemma
Porsche Bologna confirmed that a change over valve needs to be replaced
it will take few days to order the part and do the work.
likely i am stuck for 5 / 6 days and I need to be in the UK for family and work reasons.
they told me that i could drive back paying attention that the cooling temperature does not go above 90c.
obviously they told me that something could get worse and then i would be really really stuck.
at least in Bologna i have a place we own, internet etc

what would you do? risk and go back, 900 miles or just stay put and fix the problem?

very annoyingly car was serviced 2 weeks ago for interim service, £1,200 pounds by OPC in Tonbridge.
apparently this is a known issue by Porsche and in many cases has zero to do with the cooling system but it could be any of the 8 COV there are in the Carrera.

Drive at night in the cool and risk it but only if you have breakdown cover. If not fix it locally.

If you absolutely have to be back for work fly back and leave car there for 5/6 days, then collect it. No way in hell would I be risking it, YMMV.

Both Porsche Tonbridge and Porsche Bologna told me it is ok to drive because the coolant temperature stays at 90..
read many posts on forums and it can be any of the 8 COVs in the system.
go figure
