Hi Guys, I currently have a deposit and spec lying with my local dealer for the Turbo S however as I am sure you are aware they cannot give me a build spot yet. More than likely going on what they are indicating I could maybe get a car mid summer next year.

Being slightly impatient and instead of phoning around every dealer in the country would anyone be aware of any dealer stock or cancelled orders on their travels?

I do see a few for sale by Independent Dealers however I refuse to pay overs, did this on a GT3 and not doing it again.

Any pointers would be most helpful.

I would say the only way to do this is doing the ring around. People often pull out of their cars but they disappear quickly - I missed out on two in late July and got a bit fed up.

The 4-5 dealers I spoke to promised me calls if anything else came up but unsurprisingly I've not heard a peep. Fair enough, demand is greater than supply.

Not to add to your woes, i own one and have to say major step on for 991.2 TS sheer turn of pace is shocking, there really is not anything else out there for the money that can compete on a day to day basis. good luck with your search.

I have already phoned 2-3 dealers and not sure if I want to go through half an hour of dribble and false promises each time! however I suppose that’s the only way of doing things and might get lucky. Like you I will probably get fed up!

You will literally have to phone every dealer....even if another dealer in the same group can see it on their stock system they wont be able to get access to it to sell it. In reality I would say every OPC will have people like yourself with their name down who would probably take a cancelled order of it came up.

I am soooo happy for you! Lol Good to hear you think it’s a major step up, think I will just have to be patient with the local dealer. Out of curiosity, apart from the pace, anything else that stands out for you over and above the 991.2?

Dealers will only know their vehicle allocations for the next few months, highly unlikely further forward than that - key is to find a dealer with only a couple of Turbo S orders in their hand, that way you'll be near the top of the list should someone cancel or if they get an extra early allocation (it happens). I enquired recently with my local friendly OPC (mid Sussex), and was offered a December build slot, but i am rattled over the extra 10 percent duty requirement in the event of a likely no deal Brexit, as payment can't be made in advance of physical delivery which will be January 2021 given an earliest December 2020 build.

Oh yes plenty!! So the front end iMO is straight off a .2GT3! Turn in is great!
Another stand out- when you trigger sports plus mode, spoilers front and rear deploy, you can really feel the car being sucked into the tarmac at pace.

Unfortunately there are downsides so I’m going to be transparent- I spec’d 10mm PASM, on A roads and general decent B road it’s fine. Come to a bad B road and expect you feel like your in a 3RS.2! But hey it adds to the theatre. Another thing... interior panel rattles! Especially over the rear parcel shelf where now there is less sound proofing I keep find this rattle which I’m sure is an easy fix

FYI- as was with the .2 991 TS Porsche limited supply, well unfortunately it’s the same with 992 TS. My OPC is a large one and only got 3 for the year!

This reminds me of when I wanted a 996GT2, I missed the boat and had to pay slight overs from an Indy, Was glad I did at the time. I would give it a couple of months then make offers on the cars that are still around if you don't want to wait. If there is a no deal BE and a 10% price increase it might seem like value. I had mine on track last week for the first time, they really are special cars, big step up on the 991s in all areas and not just power, agree with above the front end feels like a 991GT3, I think what impressed me most aside to the much improved chassis, steering feedback/feel and suspension, was the brakes. For me this was a weak point on track with the 991s. Good Luck with your search.

Probably won’t help you, but my understanding is you can get slots (and physical cars) at a discount in Germany

I got offered one from Silverstone Porsche a few weeks ago but it was in crayon ( wrong colour for me)
Maybe sold now but no harm in giving them a call.
Good luck.

I never found LHD an issue in the UK, so would probably be my choice if I wanted a car quickly (vice versa I would never buy a LHD M3 CSL if I can get a RHD car at about half the price)

Thanks guys for all the replies, good to hear such positive reviews from all who have them. I had forgotten about the potential 10% increase on a no Brexit. Thought this might be a bit of a myth to be honest however I must ask my local dealer about this and if it is true I certainly won’t be paying another 16-17k and will be asking for my deposit back!
Apparently there are 6 orders ahead of me, 3 Coupes and 3 Convertibles and as mentioned above they haven’t received any further allocation dates so they can’t give any update on slots.
They did say they could probably push through a Turbo for me as they currently don’t have any orders for these on their system however I think I would be selling myself short....what do you reckon?

Thank you very much for the heads up, Crayon is one of the colours I would consider and I will definitely give them a call on Monday.

Forgot to add- The brakes, they are a huge step forward in modulation, pedal feel is like a steel braked car, for me, this is probably the major plus point on 992 TS

I was at the PEC today...had a look at the blue Turbo S coupe they’ve got....it was parked next to a regular 992 Carrera. For me one of the things about the Turbo I loved was the wide body stance....it’s a real shame that it’s lost that differentiator vs the rest of the range.

I test drove the PEC 911 TTS last week in the damp. The spec was on the poverty side of 911 which surprised me. No electric seats on a £165k car. Next to the 4s apart from rear spoiler almost indistinguishable., with the sports exhaust . I was going tempted not to spec PSE due to this and keep quads but was pleased with the noise.

Handling and power are amazing. Being instructor led in the 4s the difference in performance was visibly impressive. It’s definitely a daily Q Car with minimum dramatics.
For that reason it’s a marmite car nothing to show for your money or the perfect super car ?
