So I’m in the market for a 991.2 censored and I keep seeing ads from none OPC dealers claiming X number of months/years extended warranty.

I’ve recently read the terms and conditions of the extended warranty and if car is sold to a none Porsche commercial entity the warranty becomes invalid. It’s only valid in a sale if private person to person. One dealer was like ‘they won’t check don’t worry about it!’

That’s all! Be wary folks.

Have spoken to 2 dealers this week, where the cars are advertised with extended warranty and both of which are not SOR. Both claim 'we have a way' to get the warranty transfered, which I doubt very much. So many dodgy traders about.

Anyone had first hand experience of this and how did it go? It limits the car buying down to private or OPC only.

1: SOR
2: selling dealer will get the past owner to do a letter to Porsche and transfer the warranty to the new buyer. (you need the seller on board come sale time, or a letter might be pre written and given to the dealer or worse forged letter)
3: trader won't register the car as sold to the trade and the org owner still owns it on the V5 but don't know.

I bought a 997 about 4-5 years ago from a dealer .
Warranty was not transferred over, but when I took it for a service,my local opc could see the car had
warranty ,and done about £2ks worth of work that needed doing.
Just my experience.
