i think the story behind this one is well known... wonder why its now being advertised as a private sale given that it was bought by these guys at the auction and was up for ages at around 130k plus

God is this one still for sale! This was the auction car, which went for very little a few years ago. It’s been on and off sale at 117k for years.

I guess their quick flip and trying to make 17k profit hasn’t worked out, it looks to of done little to no mileage since the auction a number of years ago.

Wonder if it’s even been serviced, has always looked clean and tidy and I believe it’s a factory non sticker car.

What's the back story of the car? Big accident or similar?

Love the ad:

Dry-dumped 3.6 litre flat-six revs to 8,400rpm producing 409bhp, 193mph and 0-62 in 4.2 seconds.

If there is a verified story, then it should be added to the The GT3 and RS avoidance thread!

I think the consensus was there was no back story with the car.

I have no interest in it and happy to be corrected.

I don't know if there is an issue with it, but I looked at it and bid on it in the auction - didn't win it as these guys paid what I considered to be the wrong price.. I guess they now realise that also as it's almost 2 years since they bought it and still not sold!

It had about 7k on it at the time of the auction and had lived in Scotland for a number of years. It had a little more corrosion on components underneath than I would have expected for a car of that mileage (it had lived in Scotland I guess!) but nothing major wrong that I could see.

Being a none uk build car in white will effect it’s value. Clearly this is why one of the reasons why it’s sat unsold for 117k for two years or more. It also been listed at higher / lower prices and even back into auction and still failed to sell. It would clearly appear many think it’s not worth the current asking price otherwise it would of been snapped up some time ago.

I would imagine 115k now gets you into a nice uk spec gen 1 rs car with good history and sensible miles so I guess many will look to find a uk car in great condition with solid service history.

Collecting cars is doing well for certain cars, shocked they haven’t tried to sell it there.
