Hi all, I've been looking at 991 turbo S around 2014-2016
I've seen a 2014 with 37k for 79995 but the WBAC price is 64000.
Also I've seen another 2016 with 27000 miles for 103000 but the WBAC price is 84000

Why is there such a huge gap between trade and retail prices ? I only ask as I plan to keep it a year but don't want to take a huge hit when I trade it in for my next car.

Has anyone had any recent experience with selling a 991ts and what type of prices have you achieved on it

Asking as first supercar and don't really know the market

WBAC are less than trade prices with no options on the car taken into account.

i would say there would be around £10-15k between trade and retail so if you just traded it expect to lose this.

This one caught my eye.

wbac offered me 50k for my lambo gallardo at the time,I got 73k for it selling it privately and at that point in time there were no similar spec cars for sale under 80k so I would take wbac prices with a pinch of salt especially on supercar stuff.

Oh dear so expected loss of 10k when coming to trade in after a year. What are the must have options on a turbo S to increase value.

I thought the wbac price is more or less a similar px price when trading in

I'm confused (easily done) are you looking to buy or sell? who the hell knows what will happen to prices in 12 months??? Try hire a 991TTS for 10k for the year wink good luck with that. Both WBAC and OPC trade prices can be insulting but your not selling. Suggest autotrader and OPC websites are a start and look for a spec you want. TTS are pretty loaded as is but im sure some will tell you whats good and whats not.
Mine has Burmester sound system, totally wasted imho as the car creates a lot of road noise as it is so you cant appreciate the clarity.
Front end lift, don’t have, never needed it.
18 way seats, perfect
Seat heating always good
Seat ventiliation, have it, never used it.
Full OPC and warranty, ideal, low use causes sticky turbo actuators, listen for engine hunting on idle.
A good GEO, a necessity

WBAC isn’t a trade price. They will offer you very low numbers if it’s a car they don’t think they can shift fast. It’s not a good way of trying to figure out what bottom book might be or what the dealer bought it for

Quite honestly, unless you are very lucky with timing, running one of these with a retail of £100k for a year will cost you £20-25k: 10-12k depreciation, and the same again in margin selling back to a dealer. Best done with eyes open! Used Porsches aren't cheap at the moment, certainly compared with last Dec when you would have paid less for the same car as you would now, but it depends what things are like in a years time. My bet is worse than now.

I’d agree with that....I think you’d do very well to run one for less than £20k assuming you pay retail and sell it to trade when you get a car in a year. I would say £10

Sorry to make it clear I want to buy one not sell.
I’m just looking at wbac as a guide to prices , it usually works with other cars to get a decent price (non super cars)

However the margin is huge , the above poster is right with depreciation being another 10k and then px price after a year an 80k car will be 60k by December 2021.

When will the prices even out for the 991 TS? Where they won’t depreciate as much anymore ? Would it be better to get a 2014 one rather then a 991.2 2016+ model?

For me, if it’s about losing the least money I’d go for the 2014 one, especially if you keep it longer

I would go for 991.2 Turbo S.
If depreciation is factor, I would go for a 991.2 turbo instead of 991.1 Turbo S.

Recently had the same conundrum but ending up pushing myself and going for Gen 2 Turbo S.

Either way you will be happy.

Agree, opc are the worst at making a bid. I’ve never sold back to my opc for that very reason.

My 991.1TS is currently for sale in the OPC network and is a good car with a great spec. I’ve got no skin in the game but you might be able to get a good deal on it. PM me if you’re interested and I’ll point you to the right advert.

9k miles in 13 months cost closer to £15k which is still a lot of cash.

I had ‘mission creep’ from a GTS cab, then included Turbos.... then Turbo S!

Wow - what a car? As I have already said elsewhere, benign and eminently usable when required and utterly insane when ‘required’! wink

Assume you’re enjoying it?
