JZM has a 911R for sale which has two sets of seats (Comfort & Bucket) so they can be swapped depending on usage. Is the owner of that car on this forum? If so, would you be able to tell us how you've done this (my OPC drew a blank). Or has anyone else done this?

You simply buy the second set from parts. Have asked the question in the past. So buy the folding buckets and order a second comfort set via parts. They'll give you discount etc wink

Thanks. I've got the 918 Bucket Seats and asked my OPC about buying and installing 4-ways and they said it would not be possible and even if they could it might be in the region of £20k because of labour. Hence why I'm asking now, having seen the 911 at JZM.

I know owner of this R but as IMA suggests, quite a straightforward and useful consideration. I acquired some folding buckets to slot into my then 991.2 turbo S
Some 991 models will allow this change, adaptive to buckets, without warning lights being deployed or needing resetting. Literally plug and play or plug and plonk your bum!

Someone better qualified than me will be able to confirm / deny. I think that you will have to plug in the diagnostics and reset the seats module. Otherwise it may show a fault code once the new seats are in. It’s no problem, only a few seconds to do. I had to do it when I took the seats out of my GT4.

I think the reason is that you can probably go from 4 ways/comfort seats to buckets but not vice versa because of the wiring loom.The.4 ways probably need more electrical connections that the buckets which I think only have a heating element (if specified) and a sensor for the seat belt warning.

I think this R was initially ordered with Comfort Seats and sat on the market for a loooong time IIRC.

That's the issue I came across - the 'wiring loom' was the hard bit. PS the 918 do have power (up and down) but I'm guessing that's not enough. This all makes sense now and I'm guessing it's only feasible going from Comfort to Bucket.

I really do not understand some OPCs as this is what I regard as a simple request and is the sort of response you'd get from Porsche Retail Group. Just buy a set of seats you'd like from tiele.com and ask any good indy to fit. You do not have to go for the 18 way seats if they do not have the correct wiring or modules but even this can all be retrofitted. There are other manual seat options if your model had the same seat options as ours.

Thanks - will take a look at that site. I only need 4-ways, ideally the same as my GTS.
