Gt2rs Purchase
Discussion
Evening all.
Didn't want to hijack the other thread on these however, I'm currently in the market for one.
If anyone has any info on the cars currently for sale (clocked, damage repaired etc) would you mind dropping me a PM.
Also where do we see these going in value, they seem to have sat pretty well over the last couple of years.
Thanks in advance.

Good luck with the search
Are people really clocking modern Porsches?
In terms of values, if the >4,000 produced number is correct, then I suspect they will continue to fall. In the medium to long term they should then trade below the numbers limited cars ala various 997 RS models, 911R, Speedster etc. - probably will take a while to get there though (it could of course be the last GT2 RS without hybrid elements, which would help). In Germany the cheapest cars are slowly approaching list again I believe (but list here was 300+ with options, so much more than in the UK)
I’d really quite like one and saw a few on track last year - very very fast and sound really angry

UK normally seems to get about 10% of a GT cars production but these were made in very large numbers (by GT car standards) for the North American market. UK got about 120 IIRC. However, that number was limited because of the new EU WLTP emission regulations which were brought in during 2018. Whilst Porsche couldn’t make any more for Europe they made a lot for North America.
If you remember GT2 RS for UK were all built Jan/Feb 2018 with GT3 RS being built immediately after, If I remember people were speccing the latter before the car had been launched. Porsche were making GT3, GT3RS and GT2 RS all at the same time.

I suspect they will depreciate to a point - maybe around the 150k mark and then many factors will play a part. Can you drive them on a road after 20xx or only on a track, how will it be classified in the future in terms of usage, will Porsche make another GT2 RS with a pure ICE drivetrain. It's worth considering that there will be a natural point when ICE cars are not allowed on the road at all - unless maybe they fall in to a very specific category. Whilst this is probably not relevant in our driving lifetime if that happens these cars will be collector only items; possibly only allowed on the track . This particular version is not globally rare enough to justify its inflated price if you can barely drive it.
However, if you are able to accept a loss, and are in a position to be able to buy it then go for it. I'm sure its an amazing drive.

Great package but still too expensive imo compared to Pista et al and could be viewed as slightly redundant by the more focused and effectively equally rapid than previous model 992 TTS which also appears to be lower numbers than the 991.2 TTS.
As ever rarity will be the GT2RS trick card in the UK market and this should help support values long term depending on 992 spec if one is actually produced.

I was told that each uk dealer got two cars, with some getting three.
I know that's not correct as my OPC got four....I was shown their computer system at the time as my GT3 was supposed to be in build at the same time but got delayed. Although I think a lot of people on here reported two or three per OPC. Cheib said:

Good info. You could squander many an hour analysing that data during lockdown. One thing caught my eye (off topic) - there were 216 Turbo S registered in Q3 2020 ! Seems very high.Search for veh0160.ods

There would have been 37 more on the road somewhere in the world.... but if your a good diver, there is a ship with them still on board at the bottom of the bay of biscay
They were on the way to brazil i think from memory, porsche replaced them.
I was after a gt2rs for some time, drive one first,i went for a 2019 wp rs in the end,i thought it was a better car, claimed as quick, but if you just want the thuggish power delivery then great.

I was looking at Pista's as well however, far too many cars for sale that don't seem to be moving which will only push values one way
