Pricing advice

I'm starting to look at the possibility of a 991.2 GTS. Having bought a couple of different model Porkers in the past I'm a bit bemused by some of the pricing and would love some opinions!

as I was looking at a black one - up for £84,950. However, there's an OPC one, white (which I don't want) - same year, similar miles and from what I can see simialr spec - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202008283... - up for £5k less.

I'm used to significant premium to buy from OPC, plus obviously the OPC car will include 2 year Porsche warranty.

What do you think? Particular bargain at OPC? Drastically overpriced at Indy? Keen to hear thoughts on why there might be the difference and what to look out for

Edit - Just seen you are after a cabrio. Friends is a coupe, 911’s have to be coupes. Buy a Boxster 4.0 GTS if not.

I would not pay more than 80k for a 991.2 GTS either cab or coupe. The OPC car seems reasonably priced and may have some margin for negotiation. You can buy a 992 Cab S with the same power starting from mid 90k, hence my stop of 80k for a GTS.

Is there a step depreciation for the 991.1/2 when the 992 was released? The interior and exterior seemed to have quite a bit changed.

Perhaps, but a lot of people, myself included, haven’t warmed to the 992, so there is still a good level of interest in really nice 991s.

The ‘value’ is in finding a car that ticks all your boxes- model, colour, spec, history, mileage. A car is expensive if you are paying for stuff you don’t need.

IMO, OPC cars normally merit a premium, but private sellers often overprice their cars.

OPC’s don’t give cars away...they will have paid less than £80k for it so the private one is ludicrously priced IMHO.

For what it’s worth I wouldn’t have a black GTS....I think the GTS black accents/wheels work better.

+1 911 Cabrio just doesn't look right in my opinion.

I'd say the white OPC car looks good value if you can live with the colour. I know centre lock wheels are not for everyone but i think they add to a GTS which would count against the black car for me.
