hi,

as anyone retrofit a Burmester in a 911 via OPC

considering doing so, the standard sound is abysmal and I want to use OEM due warranty

I've never heard of anyone doing this. The combined cost of parts and labour would far exceed the incremental ex factory cost which is already substantial. You can ask your OPC for a quotation.

I had Burmester in a 991 and thought it was rubbish. In fact sometimes listening to the radio I thought it was broken.

Bose similarly did not impress. I had to turn the bass right down to make it tolerable.

I am not absolutely sure, but I would have though non-Porsche approved stuff would be alright because it is an audio accessory. I stand to be corrected on that point however.

Aftermarket equipment installed sympathetically will outperform Burmeister all day long. Speak to a specialist, be honest with your budget and they'll see you right. Forget fitting / retro fitting OE kit - its a non-starter.

I think it would be night on impossible to fit Burmeister. You’d probably need to upgrade the PCM in some way and I imagine the wiring loom in a standard car won’t have the right cabling for the subwoofers.

I’d also add whilst it’s good I wouldn’t say it’s mind blowing by any means. That’s based on having it in a Macan and Bose to compare with it in a Cayenne. 911 just has too much road noise to really appreciate a good speaker system
