997.1 GT3 Tyres

I'm going to be looking to get some new tyres for my GT3 in the spring - mine aren't dead but they are coming up to 8 years old so probably past their best.

I don't really want cup tyres as is going to be a 95% road trip car. Are Michelin PS4s N rated and does it actually make any difference ? The only road biased tyre I can find that is N rated is the PS2 which must be pretty old technology given its age.

You'll love this tyre. Not n rated. I run both Cup 2 and P4S better most of the time especially in the wet.

its PS4S's

don't buy the wrong tyre there is a cheaper PS4. but people put the 's in the wrong place, but the details matter when ordering tyres.

You can definitely get Porsche ‘N’-rates Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres in some sizes - I changed to them last year on a 991.1 GT3. Not sure about the 997.1 GT3.

By far the best choice of road tyre if you want something for all weathers.

I've been running PS2,s for years on my 997.1 GT3 and they have been great in all weather for road trips. More than enough grip for road work.

Thanks all on black circles rears are :

PS4S £263.42 (+£40 off when buying 4 tyres)
PS2 £268.73
CUP2 £364.08

So its a bit of a no brainer !

Don't be afraid to try a 245 35 19 up front. Helps a bit with understeer

Sorry yes not n rated for 997 but is for 991 onwards and big leap over PS2 which I used previously.

PS4S on the rear of mine mate! Will be replacing with exactly the same, would love to move to Cups but due to the nature of it being a DD, doesn't make sense!

Might get a second set of wheels with Cups fitted for track mind you!

if you have a friendly local fitter try oponeo and tyre leader

better still, get the topcashback discount for protyre through topcashback and you might be surprised. its how ive bought the tyres on my alpina for the past few years and will do the same when the gt3 needs new boots (likely never in my ownership dont drive it enough sadly)

That's because the 991 has 20's - PS4s tyres are, for some weird reason, only N rated in 20 and 21".
