Does anybody know the history of this car?

Should I be concerned it has had 7 owners and that it has a stage 2 tune by 9e to 650ps?

Would I be better off looking at cheaper, standard cars with fewer owners that are out there? Any advice/guidance is much appreciated.

I know quite a few people like tuning their Turbo’s but personally don ‘t really see the point....they’re so quick it’s hard to exploit anyway. I’d go for a standard car unless it’s priced at a discount as it will be hard to sell so I’d want that taken into account when I bought it.

It should be straight car if Ken has taken her in at 9e. Not that its important but not correct on the 9e tune. Ken recently sold a manual 997.1 turbo with 32k miles I've raced a few time on track. Identical mods to mine. £80k yikes

I'd say thats add value and was a bit shocked myself. Maybe people realising all these turbo cars held back? Loads tuning their 991.2 and 992s via 9e too. Very busy.

having said that these are so fast out of the box you need your head checked to tune!

Thanks for your replies. Very helpful.

IMI A - what do you mean by this bit: "Not that its important but not correct on the 9e tune"

The 9e tune does not devalue the car in my view. Far from it for many performance orientated buyers I'd say its a bonus historically many people in UK put off but every man and his dog remapping them now . Lots of 9e customers smoking around in tuned 580bhp 992 and 991.2. I think with dawn of every 911 going turbo people realise the power level any given 911 has just depends on the map it has. Hardware the same. Same with 991.1 turbo and 991.1 turbo s. iIdentical hardware with different tunes. 991.2 GT2 RS also basically a 991 turbo s engine but with better cooling and big turbos wink

Perhaps 'smoking around' is not the best description here biglaugh

Haha no of course not. I've loved what 9e have done to spice mine up and at 99.5k miles with 40k tuned by them. Still smoke around in her!

Maybe I'd be better off finding a cheaper, standard spec car with 3/4 owners and drive it for a while before thinking about getting it tuned/mapped and then take it to Ken at 9e as they seem to have a very good reputation.

9e are excellent but I wouldn’t buy a 7 owner car of that age, too many owners that had it for so short a time they didn’t have to worry about servicing or doing anything to look after it for the next guy.

The tune of it is worth a small premium only to me and that’s only because it’s 9E and with a good exhaust, think I’d prefer the milder stage 1 to be honest

Still could be tricky to sell on unless you take it back to 9E to sell, and they will take their 5-8k margin

7 owners the car would not put me off if there was a benefit in the price but this seems to be right on OPC money. I think it shows there is a shortage of used stock around. The mileage on this very nice indeed and condition is like new Ive seen the car. I'd bid £75k and see what happens. Owners will be an issue for any buyer. The vendor has to be realistic.

7 owners is putting me off to be honest whatever the price is. Shame as it's my perfect spec.

Yes, you'll be the 8th, then at some point trying to sell to the 9th...

Even if you try to trade it in, you'll be firmly kicked in the plums...

I also think the gen 2 has a few nice upgrades too I doubt the over all cost of ownership much more over three years. I know a few owners who never plan to sell theirs.

Regarding the owners most 2013/14 Turbo s average 5 owners even when buying from Porsche approved its more than normal at that level. i wouldnt buy a tuned one as cant see the need and that also means no Porsche warranty? I got mine a few weeks back didnt try to negotiate price as I only wanted a certain spec and saw only 2 in a year of searching daily.
