As Race Retro won't be happening again this year, the Silverstone auction will be online. This is one of the lots.

I wonder why it says “no signs of serious damage”? Is it they found some damage deemed minor or its a CMA clause?

Nice looking car!

That's my old car. I sold it a long time ago in April 2013 for peanuts smile Think it had done circa 28k miles back then.
The guy that bought it only kept it a few months before selling it on (think he was mostly into boosted cars and was ticking a box). Sounds like it has not been doing much since then.

It’s such a shame that so many owners feel that these cars are no longer viable to drive as Porsche intended.

Fabulous, making me all nostalgic. I think mine had a white cage though. Was that an option to choose when new?

Mine was black, that was standard. White was a cost option I think. Along with the centre console.

The options list was typical of RS spec cars up until then. White or black roll cage? White or black centre console? Linotronic headlamps? Floor mats? Lower console delete? That’s it Sir..

Aircon was never intended to be fitted - until someone whinged in the Uk so they made it a no cost option.

When RS’s were designed for a single purpose rather than by a committee of twerps.

Yeap, my first one had a black cage, but white central console, my 2nd had both in white - cost options:

Dug out of my secret stash of Porsche loo material (hidden from the management so she doesn’t throw it away midst clear out of magazine based clutter)

Nope. Fake News. No options for yellow stitching to match brake calipers and special-order yellow tacho needle so that can't possibly be geniune.

Was the Red or Blue decals an option and unique to each car? (Or could someone buy a red decal’d car and get the decals replaced in blue?)

Yep. You could have a red one or a blue one. The seat belt colour matched the decal colour. The person on the RS committee who came up with option at the time went on to far greater things.

Long for this to come back with Porsche for their real drivers cars.
Designed for the single purpose. No frills.... this way the sloane square schlepps will be utterly disgusted.

Interestingly Toyota have done this with the GR.... two packs only, you get one or the other and you can’t mix or cherry pick.

Twerps are also squeaking/bleeding/melting..... delete as appropriate.

Porsche could seriously do with getting back to the basics on offer here. Not the colour schemes but 350-400bhp, 1200kg, max 255-265 tyres, no nanny tech interventions, hydraulic steering - bloody heaven on wheels. With modern damping (mine used to track/tram line like sod) it’d be exquisite.

Then make a Touring version of it...

Noob question, was it not just a set up / geometry issue? (i.e too track biased)

Mine was on factory settings and didn't tramline particularly on the road.
