Been looking at these as the best compromise for my needs. My ideal car would have been a 991.2 GT3 Manual but I need the rear space to be able to use the car for daddy duties when required.

I considered the new 992 but I really have a massive hate for OPF and how it ruins the sound of modern cars. Any owners opinions? Are there any must have options? This car has caught my eye..

Can't help you much, but interested to see what comes up on this one, as I am looking for the same thing and was thinking of going to see this car when the opportunity comes up again.

Only things that leave me in two minds are the colour and the spec, which is not particularly lavish...

I looked for a looong time for a manual 991.2 GTS (Aug to Xmas) - this was for sale all that period nearly.
They are very very very thin on the ground. The spec is not great on this and the no deal was the plastic dash - just doesn't feel premium enough for me personally.

In the end I found a nice manual S so went with that.

I considered this car too but I also was put off by the spec, the standard dash in particular. Its had a couple of price drops since then too.

Ended up ordering a new Cayman GTS 4.0 instead

Be wary of this car: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202012317...

One of the OPC put up for sale (was traded in), and quickly took it down. I spoke to them and there is a problem around the recorded milage - basically they cannot be sure of the milage as it appears to have gone backwards over the course of a year. They don't know if it was entered wrong, or something more suspicious. Either way it going to follow and effect the value of the car. They put it up for auction within the trade and it appears this dealer/trader has picked it up.

This was up for sale around Oct time with a different dealer (plastic dash again). It did go, but its back on the market with a different dealer. However they using the photos from the other dealer which is a bit odd. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202101077...

Just got sent a video presentation of the 991 but saw this 992 in the background that’s caught my eye

I don't think I could live with that interior. I thought you wanted a manual?

If I was after a manual car I think I would be seriously looking at that one - nice spec and good mileage.

Can’t stand white cars so that ones not for me. Love the way the grey car looks and I do like the idea of a manual gearbox. I think I keep considering a 992 purely because the price difference isn’t miles apart.

Just an idea . Wrap white car in a PTS colour of your choice , serves as a protective film as well. Did that on a burgundy vantage to Matt grey and worked great to meet personal tastes

Not a bad idea! The 911 Virgin car is a great spec at what looks a very good price. Guess a good wrap is ~£3k? A much better buy than the grey OPC car I’d say.

What else is the opc car missing other than leather dash? Not keen on buckets either.

Hi- I went through exactly the same process back end of last year, one day plan to hopefully get a 991.2 GT3 but need the rear seats for the kids for the moment . I’m not sure if there are any must haves it’s down to personal preference but my list were:
- colour - Carmine or GT silver - end up with GT silver
- OPC warranty just for a bit of peace of mind. For a manual car you may wish to consider getting an over rev report if car hasn’t got warranty (although nothing to say an over rev hasn’t occurred since warranty renewal - for me, that’s one big advantage of pdk as no risk of over rev or “money shift” occurring. However absolutely love the manual, it truly is a great box
- wanted gts interior - just because I wanted it to feel a bit special inside. I think cars specced with this do tend to shift quicker but I haven’t got any actual evidence just anecdotal
- rear parking camera (along with sensors) as I’ve got a pretty long drive to reverse out of (although it’s not the best camera in the world so could probably live without

Mine had a sunroof (which is actually quite nice as provides nice bit of light in what is quite a dark cabin but appreciate its putting weight in the wrong place but the way I see it, it’s not a gt3 so it’s probably ok).

Only option that would have been nice but it didn’t have was rain sensor windscreen wipers (bit naff they don’t include as standard) and the only option it had which i would never have specced but is actually really nice is the heated steering wheel getmecoat

Good luck !

Just put a deposit on the car. I wanted a GTS in manual with a sunroof and my ideal colour was agate grey. I think with this in mind I can't really be fussy about the dash not being leather, certainly not a deal breaker for me.

Should get confirmation of delivery date tomorrow but I can't wait! It's been 5+ years since I've been in a 911 and looking forward to a change from big Merc/BMW performance cars. Will be nice to have something I can chuck around a bit more and have some fun in.

Now to find a child seat that my 4 year old (who is 4 foot tall) can fit in. Any ideas?

Andrew

Cool, congrats smile

I think there are a few threads on car seats and a lot of people use booster seats. I’ve just been using my existing car seats which are massive but luckily they don’t need to go in the back that often
