Currently have a 997.2 3.6 PDK
Bose, heated, Nav, Extended Leather, PSH 53k miles

But who doesn’t love a turbo and I fancy a cab for road trips through Europe and sunny days out in the UK.

This is a second car for weekends etc

Concerns are how bad is the tip box?

And is this an S? Not badged as such.

It is a Tiptronic S, i.e. it has the Tiptronic S gearbox. It can be a bit misleading but the ad does not say it is a Turbo S.

I personally would not as I think the 997.2 is one of the sweet spots in the 911 range. I don’t really enjoy convertibles though, so that influences my decision

I'd say definitely not. If you must go cab why not seek out another 997.2?

It’s a no from me.

Everyone loves a turbo, but in this day and age where you can’t escape them, the power delivery of a NA flat 6 is something to cherish.

I was smitten with the 997. The .2 irons out the issues and remains, as mentioned, a 911 sweet spot to me.

Just make sure you test drive one first, they're chalk and cheese on the road (relatively speaking) and personally I don't find the Turbo's much fun on a B road blast or even that quick in today's terms (easily rectified with a remap).

It's also a Wendy house with an old auto box, so not conducive to spirited driving - but then that entirely depends on what you enjoy your car for!

Nooooo! (IMHO)

However, if you have the itch, then as said above, make sure you get a good long test drive and sleep on it before making any decision!

(Edit: just to add, I've owned a tip' (& manuals), and driven PDKs over a good distance)
