991 Turbo Vs GTS
Discussion
Hi all,
I currently have a 2012 Panamera Turbo. I’m looking at upgrading to a 2013-2016 991. A lot of the models are around a similar price bracket.
I initially wanted to get thoughts on the GTS vs Turbo (or Turbo S)? Which is considered the better driver’s car. Which has better residuals and is more desirable?
The GTS is the last of the flat 6 3.8L however the turbos seem to hold value really well.
I’ll be using it for a short commute (2miles) to the train station (outside of covid) otherwise it’s very much only used for social and weekend use.
Thanks in advance!!

Both are desirable.
If you buy a Turbo you will inevitably wish you had bought a Turbo S. Fast but somewhat detached they are a great package especially as a daily. Both are spec sensitive and proper Porsche history is essential. Lighter colours are slower sellers on the TTS but npt on the GTS.
Residually the Turbo S will probably lose slightly more ££ but values are relatively at all time highs on both due to restricted supply especially better spec 1 owner and decent mileage OPC cars. The days of horrific depreciation as on 997 Turbos back in the day has long gone.
As ever drive both and decide which you prefer.
