992 Turbo or 992 Turbo S
Discussion
The 992 Turbo is the sweet spot as long as you don't spoil it by adding £1000'sin options ie no PDCC, PCCB etc. Get it in Jet Black with no options and you have a great buy IMO.
On the road you won't feel the loss of power over the Turbo S.. One other thing is keep the standard wheels and avoid the pita Center locks like the virus.

Or just as an option buy a used 991.2 Turbo S (only 1 coupe in the used network at present). Has the same power as the 992T but will have the PDCC, PCCB, RWS and other options too. Will also have lost a good chunk of depreciation so probably cheaper still over 2-3 years than a new 992T.On the road you won't feel the loss of power over the Turbo S.. I’m clearly a little biased here but the Turbo is/was always a dream car for me. For (I’m sure) many buyers, it’s a stretch and possibly their own dream car and for some, the nicest/most expensive car they will have bought.
If you’re ‘going for it’ and in our case, ‘ticking the box’ by trading in our old ‘Noddy’, we/I (
) decided if I’m going to do it, I may as well go for it and do it ‘properly’ and went for an S!
A mate came to a similar conclusion himself independently….. an old mate did the same a few years ago when we bought our own 996 and went X50 Turbo for the exact same reason. It’s a small sample but with the scarcity of supply, my Turbo S with v low mileage is all the car I will ever need. If I had gone normal, non S Turbo, I am pretty sure I would want to change/trade up just because…..
The Turbo is awesome! That is also all the car a non superhero would ever need also but that’s not the point
Porsche seem to manage stock and supply very tightly meaning very strong residuals and incredible demand for good second hand stock.
I would challenge a mere mortal to tell the difference in the real world but haven’t driven the 992 incarnations.
Good luck!! These cars are utterly insane and amazing. The Mrs just looked at me today and shook her head when we popped out for lunch in ours and then shook her head as if she was pitying a small child - I was grinning from ear to ear.

Given how fast the Carrera S feels (materially quicker than the 991.2), do you really need either of the Turbos?! Mostly unusable performance unless you’re heading for autobahns or tracks. You can save a lot of money with a 4S and benefit from most of the same experience.
Not the top of the range though is it 👀ZSJ said:

Not the top of the range though is it ??The Turbo S is frighteningly quick - insane; I use that word often and deliberately.
BUT - when you floor it, it takes off….. and then you floor it more and it goes even quicker….. then you hit the throttle properly and FFS!!! Peel your cheeks from the back seats and look for your body parts behind you - a 4S cannot do that

NicG does have a point but you have ‘top trumped’ his argument!

What Spec did you go for?The Turbo S is frighteningly quick - insane; I use that word often and deliberately.

And you do this where? and how often until that novelty wears off?The Turbo S is frighteningly quick - insane; I use that word often and deliberately.

Based on my time with the 992 Turbo S and the Turbo, the Turbo whist very fast as you would expect and i only had an hr in the car it felt more like a very fast 992C4S Coupe, the 992 Turbo S on the other hand felt and drove a like a Hyper car. Lot more between these 2 cars in the way they drive than whats on paper IMO.

No doubting the performance upgrade but I get frustrated with the lack of opportunity to really stretch my C4S (992). As such a Turbo S could be the most frustrating car you will ever own.
Interesting Porsche lent me one of these. Had no problem using all of the power all of the time. Beautiful road car - best water-cooled 911 ever IMO the 992 C4S and C2S. Basically C4S is a 959 for masses
