After a major @rse clenching aquaplanaaaage moment last week it is time to put the Pirelli winters on, which are mounted on my Carrera S wheels while I run the Sport Technik wheels in the summer.

The Carrera S wheels always looked a little 'thin' in the arches and I want to put some spacers on but Porsche say only available for 18" wheels (I have a warranty and need to stick to OEM). This sounds a little odd to me..!!

Anyone got OEM spacers on their car with the 20" rims? I think the OEM ones are only 5mm so can;t see what the issue is.

I put spacers on my 991.2 S a couple of years ago. OEM options didn't appear to exist so I spoke to Litchfield about what they used on their Carrera T demo car as it looks great in all the press shots.
I ended up buying a set of 7mm spacers from them with a set of longer wheel bolts. I was really pleased with the results.
I struggled to find a set of longer security bolts in the UK and eventually sourced a set from Suncoast Porsche Parts in the US.

As for the aquaplaning, my old 991 was very nervous in the damp and wet until I had the geometry set up by Centre Gravity. It was a fair way out of whack and the transformation was incredible.

Oh, that’s interesting. I was thinking of dropping my carrera by a couple of cm, but I was worried about the wheels disappearing into the arches too much. 7mm spacers would probably do the job, along with a full geometry set up.

I had a look at a GTS the other day and rear wheels don’t look right to me ie I think they’d benefit from a small spacer.

My car had the sports chassis, so was lowered by 2cm (i think) from the factory. Absolutely no issues with the tyres rubbing at all with these 7mm spacers.

Before

After

The difference is subtle, but enough to look 'right' without being obviously modified. My car was under OPC warranty, but I just removed the spacers when it went for a service, and put them back on again afterwards.
