Screen Wash Overfill?
Discussion
The problem you have experienced is probably due to the rubber bung that fits in the top of the washer fluid reservoir. This is not the filler cap which you open to fill up under the bonnet. That filler cap has a large diameter pipe underneath (you cannot see it from the luggage compartment without removing the large plastic cover over the battery) that narrows to a smaller one which then goes through a grommet type bung in the top of the washer fluid reservoir which is located high up behind the wheel arch liner. There is also a vent pipe which exits through the sill just behind the nearside wheel. With a full washer fluid reservoir it is possible for fluid to escape through that vent pipe with hard cornering. However, if it is pouring out as you fill up then you probably have what I experienced on a 991 and the bung I referred to has not been fitted properly.
It's quite an easy DIY fix:
1. Raise the nearside front wheel you need a suitable low profile jack under the front nearside jack point.
2. Undo the screws that join the two halves of the wheel arch liner together, these will be directly above the wheel.
3. Undo all the screws that secure the rear section of the wheel arch liner and remove it, there are quite a few. then you will then see the washer fluid reservoir but note that you will have to remove a piece of shaped foam to get to it, just remember how it fits as it is an odd shape.
4. Under the bonnet remove the plastic cover that is over the battery and you will now be able to see underneath the washer fluid filler and will have to work from both above and through the wheel arch to remove and refit the bung.
It's then a matter of removing and refitting the rubber bung that goes into the washer fluid reservoir, it's very fiddly but can be done.
I hope that helps, all the above refers to my previous 911, a 991.2 GTS but is probably exactly the same on a 992.
