Retro features on new 911
Discussion
What retro feature(s) would you want on your brand spanking new 911?
I would really like the retro Targa roof, manually removed and placed in the boot.
I admire the new Targa, hacken-clappen mechanism, but it is too complex and heavy, just another thing to go wrong after 10 years of enjoyment.
What is your retro wish?

Narrow body, rwd, some superfluous weight saving, manual gearbox, smaller wheels, classic paint colour, no silly stickers……. Less is more.
Still haven’t found the love for the 992
I like the idea, @GeneveStill haven’t found the love for the 992

I would vote for narrow body, RWD, M/T and smaller wheels. Colours and stickers can be opted out.
Analog dials in green. I don't like how it has all become digital....the 992.2 will be doing away with the center one and will be all digital.
Seems their business model is to charge for features with a DNA to the past - pepita fabric, turbo door cards, fuchs etc etc.
Seems such a shame so much DNA has been lost and that the best 911's in the world are no longer made by Porsche, but Singer.

Is it going all digital? The analogue rev-counter in the centre is a nice touch!Cheib said:
Probably to address the fact that you can’t see all the dials which lets face it is an absolute shocker. I think AP said in one of the GT car vids they changed the configuration of the screens to avoid this ?
Oh and it’s cheaper of course…..
Odd isn't it with the dials Surely in user testing people must have flagged it. Oh and it’s cheaper of course…..

However, you get all the info you need anyway from the inner screens when on the full 5 screens view. I do take your point about user testing though, but it's not a massive issue and I tend to leave it on the full 5 screens view anyway.

There is an option when scrolling through the views to have a 'reduced view', this brings the view down to just three dials showing key info you need.

I like the 5 dials config and I can move my head and eyeballs if I want to see the details on each side 8-)However, you get all the info you need anyway from the inner screens when on the full 5 screens view. I can imagine this could be an issue with a helmet fixed to a brace, like the F1GP, but in a normal road conditions, e.g. checking the dials at the traffic lights I don’t see a problem.
