992GT3 - PS4S?
Discussion
Not on a 992, but my 991 GT3 now runs PS4Ss instead of Cup 2s. They're a lot less scary in the wet, as you'd expect with about double the tread depth, and feel a little more compliant. I'm sure they've taken a bit of immediacy and sharpness off the turn-in, but I'm not a good enough driver to tell the difference, and I'll get far more benefit from being able to use the car when it's both wet and cold.
I fitted PS4S to my GT4 and it felt like I’d fitted winters. It really dulled the sharpness of the handling, especially turn in. I wouldn’t buy them again for this car although I like them on my other cars.
I had more confidence in the wet but it wasn’t my daily so I don’t think that benefit outweighed the negatives for me.

I actually use PS4Ss on my GT4 as winters
They do soften things off, but grip way better than Cup2s in cold and/or wet conditions. As always, you need to find the right car/engine/tyres/whatever to suit your use-type.
Me too, they are just better for any cold and wet road driving

Anyone tried a more all round tyre like PS4S?
My GT3 was delivered with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport R tyres last October. Since I use it as a road car I wanted tyres that were more compliant with better wet grip so after 1100 miles I sold the Goodyears and changed to Pirelli P Zeros which are NA1 rated and approved by Porsche for the 992 GT3. Now, after a year and 5600 miles later, no regrets, those tyres completely transformed the car’s ability to be driven in the wet, even torrential rain. I’ve also had the suspension settings altered by Centre Gravity which has made the car much easier to drive on the road to the point now where I’ll drive it in all conditions except snow and ice. These changes have probably compromised it’s track driving but that is of no concern to me and I doubt it would be that noticeable unless driven by an expert. If and when I sell it, those changes can be reversed or even changed to be more track focused, so not an issue for a future track driver. If you want a more useable road biased tyre for cold and wet conditions, the only two approved by Porsche and N rated for the 992 GT3 are the P Zero and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3, alternatively the track biased tyre with the best wet grip rating, also approved by Porsche and N rated for the 992 GT3 is the P Zero Corsa. The PS4S is not on the approved list yet.

I think you'll find the P Zero are NA1 approved for the 992 Turbo, the GT2/3 models have never had any regular/non Cup style tyres approved for them.If you want a more useable road biased tyre for cold and wet conditions, the only two approved by Porsche and N rated for the 992 GT3 are the P Zero and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3, alternatively the track biased tyre with the best wet grip rating, also approved by Porsche and N rated for the 992 GT3 is the P Zero Corsa. I wouldn't get hung up over the N rating you could mix and match PS4S non N tyres and, for the road, not be disappointed with their performance.
I fitted BMW approved PS4S in 245/35X19 to my 7GT2 matched with PS4S Blackwall 325/30X19 and it drives superbly....

I am sure that the PS4S were approved for the 991 GT3 - I had them fitted to me car by my OPC when the warranty was renewed.I wouldn't get hung up over the N rating you could mix and match PS4S non N tyres and, for the road, not be disappointed with their performance.

I have fitted new PS4Ss to my new 718GT4 and already driven in torrential rain. They are infinitely safer and more confidence inspiring in wet conditions. They also heat up much quicker although I fully expect will wear much quicker on warm summer track days.
I find them to be awful in the wet, definitely don’t inspire confidence for me. Might look at other brands over the winter.TB993tt said:

TB993tt, you really should have checked the facts before making such a statement. You are partially correct in that the P Zero is approved for the 992 Turbo but it is also approved for the 992 GT3. I suggest you go to the Porsche car configurator set up a GT3 configuration, select the wheel option (there is only one) and then select the tyre symbol and you will see that there are 5 tyres that are approved for the 992 GT3 one of which is the Pirelli P Zero. In fact these are the same 5 tyre options that also show for the Turbo S on its configurator. Furthermore my OPC would never have fitted them to my GT3 if they were not approved.I wouldn't get hung up over the N rating you could mix and match PS4S non N tyres and, for the road, not be disappointed with their performance.

I found that nobody I knew with a Porsche 911 were aware that on the Porsche new car configurator you can see which tyres can be fitted to the chosen model, even the OPC was not aware until I showed them. Unfortunately it’s not possible to specify the tyres when the car is ordered unlike Ferrari.
