Are there any known/emerging vulnerabilities in the current gen 911 when it comes to security and are there known countermeasures? I'm not looking to create a thread to teach scrotes how to take others' valuables but a friend of mine has just sent me a video of two scumbags walking up to his 992 GTS.

One appears to have a device (could be a phone, hard to tell) in his hands, the other crouches by the car - both are at the far end of the driveway and there's no attempt to "scan" the house looking for the keys a la "traditional" relay attacks. The external lights of the car don't flash to signify an unlock but the door opens and the interior lights come on. They rifle through the interior of the car and then leave, mercifully the car isn't taken.

Just looking for anything which might help prevent this in future and alert owners to a potential risk out there.

Oh and before anyone asks, yes the car was locked. The owner is admirably vigilant when it comes to all things security, especially when it comes to their month-old pride and joy...

Does his have keyless entry? If yes then the question you need to ask him were all keys to it in a Faraday pouch?

Just because they didn't approach the house doesn't mean it wasn't a relay entry, more likely it was and that the antenna they were using was higher spec than is normally used.

I'd be extremely concerned they didn't take it, and were simply testing the waters and will be back soon to take it.

Public forum is not the best place to compare notes of this nature.

IMO the best option would be to electrify the car, a-la James Bond BMW 750i

See I'd get Ray Vaughn from Phoenix Nights to install a security system as per he done for Max.
