Thanks for posting. 996 turbo a legend out the box. Having driven both lots I'd go manual 996 turbo wink

No worries, I have noticed the 996 is getting a lot more love of late than it ever used to. Saw a nice 996 C4S example in Burton on the weekend, spoke to the owner and he adores it.

Jason Plato, Racing Driver. BTCC legend to be honest.

Look at the comparative width of them.rolleyes

The new 911s are technically amazing cars, but I’ll stick to my little 997 with hydraulic steering when I fancy a fast blast up and down narrow, twisty A and B roads.

Interesting comparison. Just goes to show the progress in chassis technology over 20 years.

Another interesting comparison would be the 930 Turbo vs 996 Carrera. Similar power and weight but reckon the newer car would win by a similar margin.

To be fair this is across all cars. The current VW Polo is bigger than my Mk2 Golf GTI 16v from back in the day, let alone the size of the current Golf.

Tyres the most significant factor. However, that 992 has so much tech it almost drives itself. Obviously a 996 will also be far easier to extract a fast lap time from than a 930.
