Insurance of second / toy car
Discussion
I have a Cayenne and have just got an allocation for June delivery of a 911 cabriolet.
I gather you can only use no claims on one car at a time ( seems to bear no logic to be but there you go ).
What is the most economic way of insuring both cars where one is a daily driver and the other a toy ?
I am sure many on here have this first world problem and I would appreciate the benefit of others experiences.
Thank you

I had multiple cars for a while and built up several lots of NCD on them. But reduced the number of cars for a couple of years and the NCD lapsed. I added another car last year and had no NCD to use on it.
My insurer, NFU, gave me a 5 year NCD on the new policy as an “introductionary” offer, which equates to 65% discount. Their max NCD is 7 years which is 67 or 68% discount.
If you keep the policy for a year, you can use it to move to another insurer etc.

If you insure with someone like Hiscox or Chubb they don’t look at NCD…generally get a policy with better cover but will obviously be more expense. Hiscox, for example, includes two years of Gap/Return to invoice on new cars. Both will cover multiple cars with different mileages etc on the same policy.
