991.2 Service Query
Discussion
Hi all,
My 991.2 has gone in for a service and I've had two advisories (both marked as urgent). First one is that the front brake disc vent holes are blocked and need clearing, the second is an air conditioning service.
I bought the car second hand in Feb 2022 from an OPC and I know the brake disc holes were cleared as part of it's preparation. Since then it has only covered 1200 miles so I'm thinking it surely doesn't really need this done again. What are peoples views on this and if I decide not to get urgent advisory work done would it invalidate warranty?
Secondly does anyone know if the aircon is serviced as part of the OPC preparation for 2nd hand cars? It's working fine and if it was only done 14 months ago I'm thinking this is definitely not necessary. Again would choosing not to have this done invalidate the warranty??
Thanks in advance

Neither of these have been my experience with my 991.2 at 15,000 miles and 6 year service last April.
I was told that having someone else change the aircon fluid would not invalidate the warranty as it's all the same providing they use the correct fluid for the age of car. There was a change to a dearer fluid at some point but my 2016 car is on the older and cheaper stuff.

Last summer I needed to add refrigerant to my 991.2 as the air con wasn’t on top form. I tried to sort it with my kit, but the port was non standard. Halfords auto centre were very experienced with Porsche and had it all tested and regassed very quickly.
Having said all that, if the job needed doing and it was in for service anyway I’d let them crack on to save me the admin and loss of a half day of my life taking it elsewhere.
