I sat in a 964 caerra 4 for the first time in over ten years. I was shocked how close the pedals were and how little room there was in the footwell. I wear a size 9 and was wearing tennis shoes. I could not press down on the accelerator without touching the break pedal. I had to twist my right foot to stop touching the brake pedal. Are all 964's the same? Are 993's better? I could not drive a car like that so maybe just saved myself money.

Try racing boots. They seem to shave a good centimetre on the width of the sole.

Late 964s and 993s have a different pedal arrangement to earlier 64s, with the clutch moved across so the footrest is to the left instead of between brake and clutch

However, I had one for 10 years with the early layout and never had any issue with brake/throttle (with size 10s)

Footrest between brake and clutch? That's rather unusual!

All looks reasonably well spaced out on my LHD car - needs a hoover, apologies

Yes, that how early RHD 64s are laid out

There is no room to the left of the clutch but there is between clutch and brake

Porsche modified this for very late 64s and the 993

Part of the reason (although not main one) that I sold mine..nowhere to comfortably rest my left foot.

Size 11 shoes.

993 &late 964 much better. Even those, narrow shoes required

.... for someone with size 11s.
No issues for me with normal shoes. Size 9.5 - 10.

Photo of RHD 993 pedals to give us the full set.
