Porsche dashcam

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has had the Porsche dashcam installed? I understood that the 992 MY23 has pre-wiring already fitted and had expected that to mean a simple plug and play job, however, that’s not the case. My OPC is saying it will cost over £1500 does that sound right, given the cables are already there at least.

Pre-wiring is basically only for the rear camera, if you don’t have the pre-wiring it’s a front facing camera only.

Thanks, it is Reading OPC… I saw those prices, it does have the pre-wiring but I only really care about the front facing camera, I presume I can have only the front. But either way, something doesn’t seem right with their pricing.

For £90 difference, I’m not sure why you’d exclude the rear camera? What if someone hits you from behind?!

Call some local dealers and refer them to the Tequipment pricing and ask them when they can fit you in! And call OPC Reading back and refer them to the Tequipment link.

Thanks, I will do both of those things… I did notice the front only shows the fitted price “including fitting and painting” (what needs painting I don’t know) whereas the front and rear doesn’t say the same and only implies the parts for that price £90 more.

I think the ‘fitting and painting’ is simply standard text that doesn’t apply in this case.

The Porsche front and rear camera was fitting on my Taycan for the quoted Tequipment prices, but it was part of a new car sale. Not sure if that makes any difference, but I don’t think so.

I have the front camera on my MY22 C4S which has no pre wiring and it was around £800. Tewkesbury OPC fitted mine before delivery. Seems to work well.

I forgot to give an update… sent a screenshot to the service manager who is investigating… if not a day trip to Tewkesbury I guess

Just paid £6 for a samsung 64gb card that works perfectly in the Macan .
