A 911R being traded-in to get a 992 GT3RS slot? Possibly...
Discussion
Saw this appear on the OOPC finder on Thursday afternoon, and it got me thinking. It's from quite a well known 'collection', so I wonder if it's been 'offered up' in order to secure a 992 GT3RS slot? I'm struggling to work out why else the owner would want to sell it.
If it was/is, then I'm not sure I would. This particular 911R spec is IMO perfect.
Having said that, with less than 200 miles from new, it's not even been used...

Any number of reasons why someone might sell.
Perhaps the seller felt it had achieved its peak value and now would be the time to get out - especially if it’s not being used.
I don’t particularly like the colour combo, but cars like that get stuck in a rut - the next buyer is paying a big premium for such low mileage, but that will take a hit if the car is used.

Agree, one of my favorite cars but would be las choice colour both for car and stripes. odd its not going back to supplying dealer, cambridge, but one of the other garages in group.
they have low miles turbos exclusive in stock which has been sat around for couple months and had price drops

More likely because 992 ST is literally around the corner.
Good shout. That's more likely, and more like for like (ish).
Porsche specials seem to be following the example of MX5 / Lotus / ... just another one to sell a few cars.
This R was special (see the price) ... but how many ways is it possible to cheese pare the 992 GT3 spec ??

Poor car, given the daft premium it seems destined to pass from one garage to the other, gathering dust.
So bl@@dy annoying that these cars don’t get used. So many great cars just get parked up in collectors garages never bing used . While we are still allowed to use them they should be used as much as possible . WCZ said:
450k seems alright, at their very peak they traded for £800k!
Around 75k overpriced imo. Similar miles car went for 375k in 2021 in covid madness times.Don't think they were ever that high.around 600-650k was max price. That was when everybody thought it was the last manual to be built as 991.1 gt3 was pdk only

This car is a collectors dream, not seen one for ages with the ultra low miles, bit marmite colour combo, but hey! its got us folks talking so no bad press for the dealer is it!
I think people will gradually forget about this model, or certainly covet it less over time. There have and will be so many more limited edition 911s to water it down.
I’m not sure if the owner really wants a GT3RS, as they haven’t bothered even taking this one for a single weekend away. Ah, what the hell, just get one anyway. It’ll soon be a 4 owner car with 1000 miles on the clock.
