Can anyone please tell me the OEM finish on Weiss Gold wheels on a GT3. Are they straight gloss or satin gloss?

Thanks

If you’re talking 997 gen, they’re actually semi-satin. They have a smoother, shinier finish that the 992 generation satin finish. I’ve also seen them done in full gloss and they’re just as nice and easier to keep clean.

This is actually for my 996. Had them done with a satin finish and it just didn't look right.

Need to decided between satin gloss and gloss. Is there much of a difference between the two?

Corrected my post - i meant the 997 finish is quite shiny compared to 992.

But yes, I think it’s a fairly significant difference. How easily a paint shop can match it is more down to them. Personally I’d play it safe and go for gloss lacquer.

I had these powder coated Aurum gold with satin finish. Which means powder coat base, painted Aurum gold with correct Porsche paint, then powder coated satin type top coat or lacquer. Obviously I am not an expert but I think that's correct and it was more an experiment. Finish isn't great close up so OCD types would hate it. Should be hard wearing as powder coated.

I then had these done with straight up gold powder coat in gloss finish. No paint involved. My wheel guy thought they would look rubbish and told me not to do it. I think the rims are anthracite, a darker grey. I quite like them now I have had them for a while and got used to them.

I don't like the silver centre caps against gold. What would you do for centre caps?

You could ask Dash dynamics in Preston to make up some custom stick on badges with a gold background and coloured Porsche crest.

Thanks for everyone's input. Picked up the car last week and I think the wheels look great - car needs a wash!
