Please help me…
996 turbo power steering fail.
I replaced the pump but still no power steering and a whine. No rev related.
Fluid gets hot really quick.

A pump fail is what a Porsche specialist diagnosed.
Any help is very welcome
Thanks
Rik

Steering rack leak? Common issue. Are the hydraulic fluid levels okay?

Hiya
Can see a leak and fluid levels seem good. It’s like the fluid isn’t getting around but the pump is ok????

I think so.
We’ve turned the steering from left to right full lock lots of times?

If there's no kinked pipes it'll be a bleeding issue.

If it's whining loudly, it's still not bled properly. The pump will be noisy untill all the air is gone.

I think the Turbo also uses the pump to assist the clutch on a manual car, may be an idea to work the clutch too.
