Just bought a 992 Gt3 2022, which was supplied with 2 alarm fobs which are unopened still in the packets. Question is are these fobs manufacturers install? There’s no markings on them, I need to get them sorted for my insurance.
Car not main dealer sourced so can’t ask the question!
Expect many more daft questions!
Cheers
Steve

When you say 'alarm fobs' do you mean the locking/unlocking fobs or the plain black ones which are for the car's in-built tracker? I assume you mean the latter, in which now you know!

Yes not clear sorry, yes the plain black ones. I wondered if they were Vodaphne or some other manufacturers?

No it's a Porsche thing, the dealer you bought the car from should set it up for you. The fob needs to be with you whenever you drive the car so the anti-theft system isn't triggered.

This is only the case if you have activated the Vodafone tracker.

OP, if your insurance needs a tracker, then you will have set up a My Porsche account and then pay the annual tracker fee via the separate Vodafone website.
It’s a bit of a gaff and the website is dreadful, but it does work.

Once set up, you need to have one of those plain black fobs on you whenever you use the car.

This is the Vodafone website. It’s diabolical on a mobile device, so suggest using a laptop/pc

https://pcc.automotive.vodafone.com/cwp/public/wel...

You log in using your My Porsche credentials, but you need to have registered your car to the My Porsche app first, and I’m not sure who can do that for you. I’ve only ever had a car added by the OPC

Good luck!
