992 GTS Red For Black Brake Swap
Discussion
Morning all,
I've just bought a 2023 911 GTS in Python Green, it's a lovely car, perfect spec, the original owner got the spec spot on, except for the colour of the brakes - I think they should be black, not red.
So before I have them take off and re-coloured, I thought I'd put the offer out on here - is there anyone with a 922 with GTS/Turbo black brakes that wishes they were red ? If so, I'd be more than happy to drive up to your local OPC, pay for the brakes to be swapped over and then be on my way.
Just thought I'd ask before I take them off and send them away.
Kind regards
Pommers

I remember asking about changing the colour on a set of calipers once, I was told in no uncertain terms that if I did I wouldn’t be offered another warranty unless it was ‘as left the factory’ including brake calipers colour!
Get in touch with your local OPC and ask, if they say it’s ok…..get it I writing, if they state the above then they would probably do a full swap out which will sting a bit but you could sell the others on and recover some of your monies.

There’s a simple answer to this. Find another OPC.Get in touch with your local OPC and ask, if they say it’s ok…..get it I writing, if they state the above then they would probably do a full swap out which will sting a bit but you could sell the others on and recover some of your monies.
And for the OP, why make life harder than it needs to be ?
Just get in contact with these guys and do what 99.9999999 % of people do with their Porsches, McLarens, Ferraris, Lamborghinis etc.
It’s hard to believe I know, but the world won’t stop rotating on its axis just because you’ve changed the colour of your brake callipers

Just to reiterate the word of warning, I had my calipers painted on my 981 GT4 and my local OPC refused to extend the warranty after the OE warranty expired.
As I suspected with my initial enquiry and obviously op can do what he wants but I would rather a email saying it was ok (if you can even get one) rather than argue the toss when you need to renew a warranty or you have an issue with your brakes and they try to blame a coat of paint.Youforreal. said:

Porsche can be so inconsistant from one OPC to another, my GT3 went into OPC Portsmouth with a JRC exahust on it, just the rear box and they block flagged the car as being modified - hence to say, they've not had a penny of my business since. My new OPC, is brilliant and looks after me like a proper customer, happy to advice on the best course of action.Out of curiosity, what colour did you have them done, something naughty ?
If I went the re-colour route, I'd just go black with white logos, doubt they'd ever know, however, I'm sure i'll find someone with a dark car and black brakes that would rather have s nice splash of red.
My 996 GT3 originally had carbons so has the yellow callipers which will need refurbed but seeing as the stey original carbons are long gone I'm debating what colour to do them. As it's a black car black callipers are probably favourite and I can see why the OP doesn't want red with green.

It was purely aesthetics for me, some will always think that your just cheating and trying to make them look like pccb but wouldn’t have bothered me tbh, I think yours would look fantastic done yellow!

- How did you find out it was block flagged?
- Do you know if the list of modified cars is local to your OPC or shared across the Porsche network?
