911 991.2

Hi,
I’m looking at potentially purchasing a 911 991.2 either Carrera or Carrera S coupe and wondered if there any pit falls to look out for or unreliability issues?

Looking at 2016 / 2017

Was originally thinking Boxster/Cayman but feel the cabin is too cramped hence why I’m now looking at the 911.

Good solid cars but you should look up turbo failure .

Great cars in my opinion, as above some can suffer turbo failure, mine did! Repaired under warranty and has been fine since. I used to have a 718 but when I drove the 991.2 CS it was like night and day.

If you haven’t driven one go and get some test drives. Don’t discount a good 991.1 either.

PS I sold mine back to Porsche and then ended up buying it back 18 months later - go figure.

Absolutely love the 991.2. Bought a Carrera s last year and recently upgraded to a GTS and don’t lust after anything else now.

Bought a .2S earlier this year, loving it!

Turbo issues as mentioned
If there's a camera and/or parking sensors check those. The sensors especially can go haywire sometimes (they are oversensitive in any case)
Check the electric seats, there can be gremlins, especially if they are 18 way!
Check the window drop / seal when opening door, as these are frameless
Tyres are expensive - check the "weekyear" mark as well as condition - can be good point of negotiation

Good options to have:

PSE
Sport chrono
14 or 18 way seats
Heated seats (I have the wheel but could do without)
