Collecting my new 911 Carrera T at the weekend and wondered what the consensus is wrt running in? Still first 1000miles "easy" then fill your boots?

Wasn't sure if the Turbo engine needed any special treatment.

I picked mine up about a month ago and was told by the dealer that there isn't any run in period.
I did take it easy for the first 1000 miles though.
It's a great car and lovely to drive a fast manual!
Enjoy!

Get the oil up to temperature and drive it hard, at least use the full rev range now and then. Otherwise you might end up with the bores glazing and get a lot of blow by going forward, and the car getting through loads of oil.

Or you could follow the Andreas P. method of gradually working the engine harder to the running in suggested mileage ... warming it up properly and trying to avoid too many short journeys ??

I favoured this and at over 30,000 miles many of which were on track, my 981 GT4 used very little oil ...

I followed the handbook guidelines and gradually
built up the load/rev range. The engine used no oil in
15K miles. I also changed the oil at 6k mls.
Probably irrelevant if you’re changing cars every year or so
