I needed to move my 911 about 3 feet in the garage today, so tried to roll it in neutral - and failed.

My method was key in the ignition, shifter into N (parking brake was off) - but it wouldn't move.

Is there a trick to doing this?

It should move in neutral. All I can think is how long has the car been parked up for and what was the weather like when you last put it away?

It is possible for the parking brakes to get stuck to the disc, although usually after a long period, and more common in colder weather

has the lock actually disengaged ? I was on the ferry a few months ago and my 997.2 failed to engage drive or anything else inc neutral and the cable broke so the cog that locks it in park called the parking pawl i think was stuck. massive ball ache to recover but relatively simple to fix

I don’t think the discs had stuck and nor had the parking brake come on. I did start it to move it - which was annoying.

That could be the case! I was a bit nervous about bending anything, so was trying to shift it via the wheels/tyres. I suspect the FF is a heavier car.

First world problem - but just wondered if there was a trick I was missing. smile
