Yesterday I spotted some oil under my 991. It's a 2013 S with only 27K on the clock. Taking it to my local specialist who has looked after my Porsches for about 12 years he said it was quite a common problem. Apparently it's the seals from the upper and lower sump sections that need replacing. He said it was age related rather than mileage related. Any one else had this problem?
The work is being done under warranty thank goodness as although the all the parts come to about £200 labour will be £800!

991.2 has a plastic sump cover. Resistant to the effects of the British weather, but can be buggered up if the sump plug is over tightened.
I think lasting over 10 years in an area that’s only a few cm above the tarmac, with no under tray isn’t too bad really. A nice easy fix at least for your garage.
