My insurance is now due for renewal, 991.2 GT3, currently with classic line, no complaints. This would be the first renewal.
Last year I tried Flux - 5x price Vs classic line and Locktons, which I liked service wise (At least at quote stage) but they were 40% more than Classicline.
I know some of the track cover has changed with CL, so just need to look at that, but overall, is there anyone else I should be talking to, to get alternative quotes in the experience of anyone on here ? I have agreed value, which is important to me and was an easy process at CL.

OP, search for the insurance thread on this sub forum which contains a lot of information
I think some use Aviva Private Clients or Porsche Insurance (Chubb). Agreed Value policies somewhat limit who you can approach, mostly requiring brokers.
The main bits to look for are whether there are any requirement around tracker or garaging

thanks all for info so far. FYI, I popped the details into my Admiral multicar policy and they wanted £180, for c.80 days up to the policy renewal, so if I scale that up it's circa £850, which given there's no agreed value and no track day cover, isn't worth the saving.
I'll try a few others, main thing that's a bit of a pain with the current policy is needing a tracker, I find it hard to believe it makes any difference on these, but maybe the stats say otherwise. It adds about £220 per year (porsche vodafone tracker)

What is the issue ? Insurance is a contract. They are not going bust.
I initially insured with them but afterwards I wanted to confirm that, if I had an accident and repairs were needed, could I take my car to my OPC for all to be fixed and sorted.Well, I had that conversation and in the end was put through to their "claims department" as the agent on the phone was not very convincing.
It turned out, yes, you can use your OPC but, they will check OPC quotes against their own approved body shops, which means the car being ferried to and from each repairer. If Admirals repairer is cheaper than the OPC's, then their words were = " you have to pay the extra to use your chosen OPC if that is what you insist "
Again, that was from their claims department so, it put me off and I changed my 992 3RS to Porsche Insurance.
Others may have good experiences though but, imo, not worth the risk to save 1100 quid.
I have a GTS on order, premiums are in the same ballpark as the GT3 - ~£600-700 with Admiral depending on which package you take. ~£1500 with CL and Locktons. I'm not sure what the latter is buying me in terms of better cover and care, as I've had no problems with Admiral, including a claim more than 10 years ago. Over a period of 5 years the difference is £4500 in premiums and £1800 for tracker install and subscription which is required by the latter two companies. All totaled, a difference of over £6k
CL and Locktons also require the car to be in a locked garage (if at home) after 10pm which is before sunset in the summer where I live. Seems unduly onerous, as I'm often in and out of the garage in the summer

Good to get your side of things.CL and Locktons also require the car to be in a locked garage (if at home) after 10pm which is before sunset in the summer where I live. Seems unduly onerous, as I'm often in and out of the garage in the summer
What prompted me checking was a conversation on here regarding a poster not being allowed to use his OPC for a front screen replacement.
Sure Admiral insisted on a mobile company carrying out the job. Lots of OEM chat ignited then.

Being told Porsche Insurance require an ADR (in addition to the tracker) installed. Never came across such a necessity before.
For high value vehicles, many insurers will require a Cat 5 tracker (now called an S5 tracker) which includes the ADR cards. These were standard on the 992.1 i.e. the VTS system but I think it's been dropped on the 992.2 It wasn't very good value at ~£220 per year and if you don't pay the additional for Porsche Connect service (after expiry of 2 years which comes with new/used car), you can't even see your car on the map. I had a Metatrak Cat 5 system on another non Porsche vehicle and that was £450 for 3 years, was 100% reliable, excellent web interface and not dependent on other subscriptions for full functionality.Nuttcase said:

Right, i follow...that additional fob - thanks. The acronym threw me and the first results i got online related to the insurers' black box tracking driving style etc. Couldn't believe things were changing that much in the industry at this level!Yes, i vaguely recall being told something at the OPC about how Voda were doing such a poor job to cause PAG to bring it in-house and they chose to drop the fob from the VTS. Was deep in the spec at the time so probably have it muddled.
