Always having a nosey round the classifieds as you do, and never realised how close things had gotten price wise on these?

What would sway you for the 'standard' car over the RS?

The RS is poverty spec - the yellow one is much nicer.

The GT3.. the engine is way better in .2 than .1. It’s yellow, so it’s still a no.

I've got a yellow GT4, so very biased. :-)

For me it was the fact the .2 comes in manual, Apple CarPlay, has a better steering wheel and in my (subjective) opinion it looks better.

If track time was top of the priorities, then I'm sure a .1 RS would be the better buy

Engine and Gearbox of the 991.2. Here’s Jethro talking about comparing the 991.2 engine with the 911R which has the 991.1 RS engine. I know bugger all about engines but have been told by more than one person that it was a very emphatic response the 991.1 GT3 engine issues. The RS s have been known to have engine issues too.

If you want it for daily or road trip duties Car Play is a big plus…yes you can use your phone in a bracket but that s six points if you get spotted doing so in the UK. I might run that risk in my classic 911 .

Have you considered one of these?

I haven’t…car wasn’t optioned with a radio/speakers and I don’t want to go down the road of cutting holes etc Car isn’t original/unrestored but the previous owner went to a lot of trouble/spent £££ getting it back to as it left the factory

Best left alone then for sure.

991.2, as had the same dilemma when I bought a few years back and there was similar price parity. Engine reliability supposed to be better.

Plus, in the end went for a manual

long term engine reliability makes it a no brainer imo for the .2.
